Today, I was driving in my car alone, listening to Prince’s 1999 album on tape. This song, one of my favorites, came on and I became rather emotional. My mother told me so many times how this song was popular when she and my father were honeymooning in St. Thomas. She said it was on every single station almost all day. At that moment, I imagined my mother and my father driving around in the beautiful weather of the Caribbean, the wind in their hair, listening to this song, and feeling nothing but overwhelming love in their hearts. I shed a single tear thinking about how wonderful they must have felt in those moments, and how I sometimes wish that they still felt so in love like they did so long ago. :(
